I have visited the clinic for various treatments over the years and have never been disappointed with the care and treatment I have received.  Dr. Thevendra combines medical experience, creative flair, a real enthusiasm for what he's doing and above all the ability to listen to how you want to look to produce some quite astonishing results.

I have been attending apsaras for some 3 years now and have had a variety of treatments including botox, acid peel as well as sculpturing.  My daughter thoroughly researched the best clinic to attend as I had heard a lot of horror stories.  The treatment I have received from Apsaras has been excellent and I am extremely happy with the aftercare that I have received.

Dr Thevendra explains the process in detail and recommends what is right for the individual.  Margaret is welcoming and informs me of new treatments that will be arriving.  I would thoroughly recommend Apsaras.

I attended Apsaras to have a large mole removed from my face using cryotherapy.  I had been self-conscious of the mole for years and felt very supported by both Margaret and Dr Thevendra.  The techniques available were explained to be which allowed me to make an informed decision of which one to choose.

The removal took place over a few sessions and I am extremely happy with the results.  The dark brown has been replaced with flesh coloured and the raised mole is now flat.   A highly recommended set of treatments.

I've always taken a pride in my appearance, which is very important for a beauty consultant. I find often that if I know I Look good, I feel better.

People have often said I look young for my age, but about four years ago, I began to notice that my lipstick was bleeding into lines around my mouth and that when I put eye shadow on I had to lift the lid up. Eventually I went to a local clinic and had some botox, which made a difference but my daughter Vicky was worried about the side effects.

So, when last December, the doctor at the clinic suggested a new injectable filler, I was very interested. He explained that it worked gradually and that it was safe. I was so convinced that I booked a treatment there and then.

Malcolm was a bit worried I was going to come back with a 'trout pout', but I had complete faith in my doctor, so I was only a little nervous on the day. The doctor spread some anaesthetic cream over the areas he was injecting, so it wasn't painful.

The procedure took 30 minutes, and there was virtually no redness, no swelling and no difference. but the beauty of this treatment is that it gradually stimulates your own collagen. Over the couple of weeks, I noticed that gradually the droopiness in my cheek and around my chin firmed up, and the line from my nose to my mouth softened. I had a repeat session in January, and I'm delighted with the final result - lots of people have commented on how fresh and rested I look.

I have no desire to look 35, bit I do want to grow old elegantly, and look as good as i possibly can. Now my my lipstick goes on perfectly!

"It worked for me....."

MAUREEN HUDSON is the national beauty manager for Fitness First leisure clubs where Dr. Thevendra does his treatment. The 45-year-old who is based in the Midlands has visited Dr. Thevendra for Botox injections.

"It's important to have someone reputable who has the relevant certificates and training so you can be confident they know what they are doing," Maureen said. "I had some Botox in the bridge of the nose for frown lines and they worked quite well. I know Dr. Thevendra says the effect comes on gradually but I think you can see a difference almost straight away.

"People were saying 'you look well'. The beauty of Botox is that it gives very visible results and it is safe and effective. I do frown a lot and it worked for me, although you have to keep it up."

She added. "You have got to go out and make the best of yourself. I look good for my age so why not? Don't knock it till you've tried it, I say."

Injection of youth?

Coventry GP Dr. Sabaratnam Thevendra has been providing botox for the past four years at his 'aesthetic' clinics. He runs two sessions a week at Fitness First at Cannon Park in Coventry offering Botox, collagen injections chemical peels and vein treatment. he refers to the treatment as 'muscle relaxant'.

He says most of his customers are women in their 40's or older who want to recapture the bloom of youth. Many have a combination of Botox for forehead and eyelines and collagen for wrinkles around the mouth and lips.

He gets between two and three new clients a week, and says: "we start to lose collagen from the age of 18 and when our skin is exposed to constant movement - speaking, smiling or frowning - the lines become more pronounced."

Clients interested in Botox are given a consultation first during which Dr. Thevendra will discuss their medical history, go through a consent form and explain about the the injections.

"I say if people are not sure then they should go home and think about it. There is no pressure put on them. Customers have to make up their own minds." But if clients are happy to go ahead they can have their muscle relaxant injections there and then.

It's a relatively short procedure. Customers lie on a couch while Dr. Thevendra administers the injections using a very fine needle.

"The muscle relaxant does not usually work straight away. The effect comes on between three and 21 days," said Dr. Thevendra and continues "the effect will last about four or five months, after that the muscle will gradually start working again, so the lines will return. The effect lasts progressively longer the more treatments you have."
