Apsaras Aesthetic Clinic | Muscle Relaxants
Background
Muscle Relaxant is a simple, non surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
One 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and within days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, which can last up to 4 months.
Muscle Relaxant has been used for years to treat muscular problems including eye deviation, eyelid spasm as well as facial spasms. Ageing is associated with the development of wrinkles and furrows on the face. These lines may develop as a result of weakened dermal collagen from sun exposure and gravity, or due to facial muscle action on the skin.
Muscle Relaxant for Frown Lines & Smile Lines
This treatment reversibly freezes or relaxes the muscle. Therefore, it may be used to treat facial lines caused primarily by the action of the muscles on the skin. The ideal areas to treat are those wrinkles caused by muscle that has no significant function.
Examples include:
- Deep crease between the eyebrows
- Crows feet wrinkles
- Forehead lines.
Recent research has shown benefit in treating lines around the mouth and neck.
Injection into frown lines has been shown to be very successful. Good results may be obtained after a single injection session and may last three to six months. The effect of the injection may take up to 21 days to work. Some patients with very powerful muscles may not see a complete relaxation of the targeted area, but subsequent injections will further weaken them. In rare cases, some patients may need a repeat injection within four weeks if there has been little response.
The cosmetic use of Muscle Relaxant is not yet a licensed procedure.

Immediately after the injections there maybe mild swelling which usually subsides within just a few hours.
How many treatments will I need?
